Do you own a Nintendo Wii console and are wondering how on earth to make copies of your games so you have a backup in case the original breaks, gets lost or gets damaged? Here I will inform you how to save your Wii games to avoid future stress.

If you are familiar with burning cd’s and the like then you have a little experience of the process before but be aware that you need aditional software and knowledge when backing up Wii games. It’s not just a case of ripping a cd and inserting a blank to re-write to. Because of the security and copyright protection that the game developers place on their games it becomes a little harder to perform the required tasks. Software available on the net for free will help you bypass this security so you can create a backup. You should not use these methods to create games to distribute, that is an illegal activity and this site does on no way condone it.

The process.

In simple steps you need to do the following;

Have your original Wii game to hand
Have a blank cd to make to back up onto
A DVD burner installed on your PC. Note DVD and CD burner is required
Copying software

That’s the basic formula you need to know and that is where we leave this post for now. Please check back for the next stage on how to back up your Wii games.

Nintendo DSi handheld as cheap as £95

Nintendo launched a campaign to drop the price of the handheld DSi to help the sales along and this has seen the price reduction passed on to the consumer. As a result sales have been increased by a reported 40% week on week. The average price reduction as meant you can pick up a console for £130 giving you a £30 discount, however some supermarket chains such as Asda have taken this even further offering it for as low as £95.

The reason for Nintendo giving a price drop is in my opinion a tactic to make way for the new 3DS handheld due out in October this year. They are obviously trying to punt as many of the DSi’s as possible and people will probably then have a hunger for the new console as a result. Good strategy if that is true.

The price reduction does only apply to the DSi and not the DSi XL or DS Lite versions of the console. Out with the old in with the new. i am really looking forward to the release of the 3DS as I think it will become a new bench mark in the gaming industry. (To find out more you can read about the 3DS Official Specification post here.)

$1.6 Million was the settlement

Australian man James Burt has been stung for a whooping $1.6 Million dollars by Nintendo for being the first person to illegally distrobute the newest Mario game. Super Mario Wii pre-release version was available on the webfor download illegally from November 6th 2009. James Burt was found by a forensic investigator employed by Nintendo to be responsible for copying and uploading the game. As a result he was taken to court and fined $1.5million dollars and ordered to pay $100’000 in fees. The illegal copy was downloaded thousands of times before it got shut down and this marks a big victory in the land of piracy.

I’m not sure if James Burt has the money tucked away somewhere to pay the fine back but the average person would probably declare themselves bankrupt and Nintendo wouldn’t see a dollar. So is this really a victory, and possibly james could make some cash of his new found fame? Piracy is definitly wrong but maybe a more realistic fine or perhaps a punishment would of been better suited?

For cheap Nintendo games you should check our store, and they are original copies (see the link below. )

After browsing the web I have found this list of Nintendo Wii Error Codes which maybe of use to some of you. If you this has helped you then please feel free to link back to this page from your own sites to help out others. Thanks

#32030
The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection servers appear to be down for maintenance. Please try your connection again later.

#32002
The Wii console was unable to receive an update from Nintendo, due to a technical issue with our servers. Please try again later.

#32003
There is not enough available space in your Wii console’s internal memory to install the most recent update. Please clear room in the Wii console’s internal memory. To do this, you can transfer certain items to a compatible SD Card, or simply delete any unneeded save game data or downloads.

#32004
Satellite and dial-up are the most common causes of this error message. Try waiting a few hours (if you have cable or DSL) until connecting again, as there may be high internet traffic, especially if there is a new Wii update. Also, your internet service provider (ISP) may not be compatible with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If using a Wireless router, try adjusting the channel that your router broadcasts on. Channels 1 and 11 are highly recommended. If you using a Netgear branded router, try changing the SPI firewall settings. If using the Wi-Fi USB Connector, try temporarily disabling any security programs on your PC, or added these following applications/files to your firewall “trusted/allowed” list:
-Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector USB (NintendoWFCReg.exe)
-Setup.exe (when installing the USB Connector)-
-SoftAPInstDrv.bin
-mdriver.exe

#107310
This problem stems from a technical issue with the Wii’s flash memory, when it is not properly formatted. A common misconception is that this problem is permanent and requires you to send your Wii back to Nintendo

#109107
It appears the WiiConnect24 service is being blocked by Parental Controls in place on the Wii console.

#109139
There appears to be a problem with the billing address you have entered for the credit card.

#204038
Please try again. You can download the software again without using any Wii points.
Solution= Try again at a later time.

#204800-205643
If you are receiving an error while attempting to purchase items on the Wii Shop Channel, you may want to use another credit card, or contact the credit card provider for the card that you were attempting to use.

#205926-205928
Although the console continues to operate for normal game play, these online connection errors cannot be fixed without having your Wii console serviced.

#206401
You may receive this error while attempting to link your MyNintendo account to the Wii Store. This comes as a result of non-alphanumeric characters in either your login name or password. To work around this problem, simply remove these characters, apply the changes to your MyNintendo account, and try again.

#208010
Nintendo is experiencing temporary server issues, which are preventing your card information from being validated. Please wait a few hours.

The Wii LAN Adapter has not been properly installed.
The Wii LAN Adapter is not yet available. It is anticipated it will be released early to mid-January, 2007. Please note: Non-Nintendo LAN Adapters are not compatible with the Wii console.
If you are not attempting to use the Wii LAN Adapter, check to make sure you have not selected “Wired” as the connection type in the Wii console’s internet connection settings. If you have selected “Wired,” erase that connection setting and start over, being sure to select “Wireless” or “Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector.” For a step-by-step connection guide, please click here.
#51000-51099
Try adjusting the “Channel” your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed.
Please make sure that your router is not on our list of incompatible routers. Click here to view the list of known routers that are experience shows are incompatible. If your router is listed, then it is likely not compatible with the Wii console’s online connection. If your router is not listed as being incompatible, please proceed to step #2.
Verify that the proper Connection File (1, 2, or 3) is selected in the Wii System Settings. If you have multiple connection files setup, and you have recently received a system update, it is possible that the update has caused the Wii console to select a different Connection File. Click here for step-by-step instructions on viewing your connection settings.
Make sure that your network’s name (SSID) matches exactly to what you have entered in the Wii console’s settings.
Log in to your router using the default IP (consult the router’s owner’s manual for assistance).
Look for the section for SSID (typically in the “wireless settings” area).
After you find the SSID (network name), verify in the Internet Settings of your Wii console that the SSID is appearing exactly as listed in your router. This includes making sure capitalization, spaces, or special characters match exactly.

#51130
Try changing the channel your Wireless router broadcasts on. Channels 1 or 11 are highly recommended.
The Wii console is not able to connect to the access point.
Check Nintendo’s router info for special notes, if available, for your router.
Click here to go to Nintendo’s Wireless Router lookup page.
Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer.
Click on your router’s model number, if available.

#52100-52199
Try manually entering in your settings to your Wii console (for example, your SSID). Try adjusting the channel that your router broadcasts on. Channels 1 or 11 are highly recommended. Follow these steps for entering your router’s setting manually. Click the “Start” button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer. Click “Run.” Type “cmd” into the box and press Enter. Type “IPCONFIG/ALL” and press Enter. Enter in the exact same values for Primary DNS and Secondary DNS into the Wii console. If using a Wi-Fi USB connector, go to your network connection settings on your computer and make sure Internet Sharing is enables on the USB Connector’s connection.

With the new Nintendo DSi about to hit the Europe market on April 3rd it is more than likely that the Nintendo DSi will become the most popular handheld console on the market to date.

The Nintendo DSi has already been released in Japan where sales have topped over 2 million in only five months and sales are still going strong. Game Stop’s CEO Bob McKenzie has confirmed that the pre-order sales figure has already doubled that of the original Nintendo DS. All this adds up to a hit console for Nintendo.

The DSi is an interactive device for the whole family and means it appeals to a wide audience which is only going to help with sales. Equipped with over 1000 games available for download directly to your handheld you are not short of choice. The main competitor to the Nintendo DSi is Sony’s new PSP. The PSP has similar features to the new DSi.

To compare the DSi has 2 built in cameras, the PSP has 1 camera which adds on to the console to give a real camera look and feel. The DS and DSi both have touch screen which are lacking in the PSP although there are home brew options which allow the owner to install their own touch screen setup. Both handhelds can play and store music. Both consoles have capabilities to go online and both can play video. Overall they are very similar but it’s the technical specs which separate these 2 portable consoles as well as their individual game titles.

With the release of the DSi, naturally the DS and DS Lite figures are expected to slow down and maybe even decrease in price which is great for people who perhaps cannot afford the DSi price tag which is set at £150 in the UK. However because of this it may mean DS sales figures continue at a steady level which is currently relatively strong. (Over 100 million units sold.)

Nintendo have a huge sales strategy planned which will be implemented throughout 2009 to ensure the public have the DSi in the front of there minds which will help maintain and grow sales. This includes software and game releases which will bring out the full potential of the Nintendo DSi and the use of it’s functions like the in-built cameras and 2 touch screens. Combined, these features will give the user new and advanced gaming experiences.

With Nintendo DSi sales expecting to sore and possibly break records you can keep up to date with all Nintendo Handheld news and information by visiting our Nintendo blog at Nintendo Handhelds and if you are thinking of buying a Nintendo DSi then make sure you check out this website.
