UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES JUST DANCE® 2

Anticipated Sequel Debuts On October 15, 2010

LOS ANGELES, E3 – June 15, 2010 – Today Ubisoft® announced it will launch Just Dance® 2 exclusively for the Wii™ on October 15, 2010 . After the tremendous worldwide success of the first installment, which has sold more than three million units to date,
Just Dance returns with a brand new track-list of more than 40 popular songs, improved movement detection and hot new features to challenge friends and family. Just Dance 2 is immediate fun, eliminating inhibitions and bringing all generations together through the universal passion for dancing.

Just Dance 2 will feature tracks from classic hits and legendary songs to today’s chart-toppers. Players will enjoy dancing to a wide selection of musical genres, including Pop, Country, R&B, Disco, Funk, Rock etc. Each track features its own choreography and dance enthusiasts will be moving for hours on end. From Rihanna’s SOS to Donna Summer’s Hot Stuff, from I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown to When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls, Just Dance players will come across songs and routines that will make them want to move their feet. And if they still want more, they will be able to download tracks from an expanding catalogue of new hits.

Just Dance 2

Just Dance 2 also boasts new environments, new modes and more importantly new moves … It takes the experience one step further with enhanced multiplayer options and new hilarious game modes. Players will now be able to create their own team and engage in dance-off contests with up to 8 players. In the Duet Mode, each player will follow a different choreography mixing dance steps and poses that will respond to the choreography of the other. And before engaging in dance battles and co-op challenges, players will take advantage of solo play to improve their performance. An added benefit is the new Just Sweat mode where players will keep their eyes on the Sweat Meter as their calorie counter shows them how much work they’ve put in.

The Classic Mode remains the core entry point to Just Dance 2 featuring fun and simple menus and giving access to all songs from the start – this is the perfect mode for an immediate dive into a non-stop dance-a-thon. And for those who are too shy to dance but love to sing, all tracks are accompanied by on-screen song lyrics. So even if they don’t score points with their voice, they’re sure to score some with the crowd… well, maybe.

The game will be previewed for press at E3 in Los Angeles, from June 15 to June 17, on the Nintendo booth as well as on the Ubisoft stage, revealing tracks such as:

•    James Brown – I Got You (I Feel Good)
•    Pussycat Dolls – When I Grow Up
•    Ike & Tina Turner – Proud Mary
•    Donna Summer – Hot Stuff
•    Vampire Weekend – A Punk

Nintendo show off the new 3DS handheld at the annual E3 show held in LA. The video below shows their presentation by , and below is the transcript for the video.

Select either GT-SD or GT-HD to start the video

Presentation by Satoru Iwata

“Everyone this is Nintendo 3DS.  I can’t wait for you to try this.  As you can see it has 2 screens. and the upper screen has a 3.5inch wide screen display and yes it will show you full 3d graphics without the need for special glasses.  As you know Nintendo produced the first video game, first 3d video game 15 years ago and since then 3d has been a constant constellation in the hard ware planning.  What we searched for was a way to make 3d games a reality, a product for mass market and Nintendo 3DS is our answer.

Let me introduce you, here on this back we have installed a 3d effect slider to adjust the 3d effect.  You can maximise it or you can remove the 3d all together, or you can choose any degree in between, simply by moving the slider.  We have also given a lot of thought to the screen itself.  Because Nintendo 3DS is a successor to the Nintendo DS it naturally comes with a touch panel.  As we experimented however we realised that finger marks and other smudges reduced that 3D impact and so did the decreased transparency of the touch screen itself.  In other words a touch screen and 3d screen do not get along very well.  Because of this we decided to employ a touch screen only on the bottom justr as we did for Nintendo DS.  And what makes the images so impactful is not just the 3ds images but the nature of the graphics.  It’s been 6 years since we launched Nintendo DS, so while we’ve now added 3D We have also made improvements to the graphics capability of the hardware itself.  Something tells me this alone might cause lots of enthusiasm in the development community.

Next…Let’s consider control

We have installed what we call the slide pad designed for (???)  We have also integrated a motion sensor and a giro senor.  I’m really hopeful that just with Nintendo DS and Wii a number of new game ideas will be born to take advantage of these new control mechanisms.  Of course it has compatibility with Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS has a camera too, but look here there is not one but two camera lenses on the outside.  What this mean is you can also take photo and view them in 3D.

Nintendo 3DS is the mass market device that lets you take and enjoy 3D digital pictures.  You may want to try out this function at our booth, and I want to mention one more aspect.  Nintendo 3DS is also capable of 3D movies, we are not announcing any specific plans this week but at our booth you will find the most ???? showing you 3D movie trailers for releases from Disney, Warner Bros and DreamWorks.  You can see DreamWorks “How to train your Dragon”, Warner Bros “Legend of the Guardians” and the Disney’s “Tangled” all playing in 3D on Nintendo 3DS.

To our knowledge this is the first time, any such 3D content has been demonstrated without the need to wear glasses.”

E3 2010 and the new Handheld 3DS

With the E3 show on the horizon the chat about computer consoles is at a high and Nintendo is right up as one of the top players as one would expect.  This time the E3 show promises information for the awaited Nintendo handheld console the 3DS, although the name of which is likely to be confirmed/changed at this event.  After browsing the web today I came across an article on the IGN site commenting that there is a chance the new handheld 3DS will be more powerful for graphics than the Wii, and close to that of the Xbox 360 and Playstation3.

Its not been long since the release of the latest DS family member, the DSI XL which is an upgrade from the DSi and hold larger gaming screens.  The 3DS is due for release in October this year and is the first 3D graphical handheld from NIntendo and could revolutionize the handheld market.

Keep checking back to this blog for the latest information as we report on the latest Nintendo events.

New DSi XL Colours

DSi XL Colours

The new handheld DSi XL from Nintendo is about to get a new set of colours, but i’m sorry to say it’s only going to be available in Japan, for now at least.  As well as the new colours they are planning on dropping the prices of the DS and DSi after the E3 event has taken place in a couple of weeks time.  Hopefully the colours and the price drop will eventually make their way over to us in the west.

I’m not sure why they have decided on this price deduction but I guess it has something to do with the release of the latest handheld currently named 3DS, although the name is expected to change before its release in October of this year.

Keep your eyes peeled on our store pages for the best prices on all Nintendo consoles and accessories.  The link is below.

Pokemon is a hugely successful gaming series by Nintendo and the next installment has been confirmed for spring 2011 for English speaking countries, Nintendo said in a press release on May 28th 2010.

The new games are called Pokemon White Version and Pokemon Black Version and are for the Nintendo DS family.  The games will introduce a new story line and the next generation of Pokemon.  Version Black and White are a response to the consumers after the release of the previous HeartGold and SoulSilver games which have sold more than 8.4 million units worldwide.  These figures are a snip from the 200 million units Pokemon have sold since the game was first released 14 years ago.

Exciting News, Game tester / partner required.

Hello readers,

This post has been milling around in my head for some time now and have finally put it together.  I have decided that I require a second pair of hands to help run this blog.  The position is a flexible one (time wise) that will offer the successful applicant the chance to test previously released console games in exchange for writing reviews and helping to write new posts for this blog.

How to apply and what is expected:

At present I single handedly run www.nintendos4u.co.uk with this blog as a news and product information platform, I do this among other things and managing other sites around the web.  I have the opportunity to test pre-released games in exchange for writing reviews and participate in a forum to bring up subjects consumers might want asked to the gaming manufacturers and designers.  Although this is a great offer I simply don’t have the time needed, this is where you come in.

There are 2 parts to what I am offering.  Firstly I am looking for someone to take this position and test games on my behalf.  You will be dealing with my contact who will determine when and which games are up next and write reviews for what you decide to play.  The second half of the job is to help me develop the blog with possibilities to expand the site, the direction of which is to be decided and joint ideas from you will be required.  As the site develops and earns more so will you.  Proper English grammar is required and if you are UK based it will be better for us to communicate.

All in all I am easy to work with and this is great chance to get involved with a gaming site that is well established in the serps and can be easily grow into something big with the right direction.

I will update this post when the position has been filled…

To apply post a comment on this post with a short reason why you would best suit the job, any questions can also be asked in the comment section.

When Nintendo release the new handheld console later this year they have said it will contain better piracy security to combat the ongoing battle against the crooks.  Software sales have seen a slump of recent times due to the ever evolving methods of being able to clone games and sell them cheaply, then chipping consoles and handheld consoles to enable them to play such games.

In a statement Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said the new 3DS console will have secret ways to combat software piracy although naturally he wouldn’t unleash any details so methods to crack it can’t be formulated.
