Handheld Nintendo 3DS
Something new to look forward to, the new handheld that is to be released by Nintendo this coming October. At the moment for the console goes by the name of 3DS, although it will most likely stay at this it isn’t unknown for people to change theirs minds as Nintendo did for the Wii, which was firstly named revolution.
The 3DS will be a console designed to be played in 3D and use the latest 3D technology and will be seen for the first time at the E3 show in June. It’s anticipated that the date for release will be set for this October and not some time next year as previously thought. This would make sense because Nintendo would be set to cash in on the Christmas console buying frenzy and should do pretty well considering the world is hyped up on anything 3D at the moment, be it cinema or TV.
The technology used in the handheld 3DS will mean gamers wont need to wear any special 3D specs to bring the games to life, it will already be visible to the naked eye. How this technology will work is another matter and after reading an article on “Kotaku” it seems they have a reasonable speculative explanation. It talks about the DSi-ware game called 3D Hidden Picture……
“It’s a DSiWare puzzle game, available in Japan, that uses the DSi’s camera to track the movement of the console, and adjust the image accordingly to make it appear “3D”. It’s entirely feasible – taking into account Nintendo’s obsession with keeping the cost of its hardware down – that Hidden Picture is a pointer towards how the 3DS will work.” ….
The above idea is a good shot at guessing what might be, as Nintendo have confirmed that the new handheld will be compatible with the earlier DS and DSi models.
I guess we will just have to wait and see, we will keep you updated when we hear more info. The E3 show in June should tell us all.
