Are you looking to buy a Nintendo DS or DSi? Luckily for most the credit crunch has seen the price of these consoles drop a little in price anyway, without using tactics to find cheaper ones. The main reason for the drop in price is because the demand doesn’t meet the supply. This is because people are saving there their money more in hard times.
If you want to go to a retail store to purchase your console then make sure you ask if they can do you a deal. Even if the DS already has a sale price on it. Sometimes they will throw in extras like carry bags which are always a bonus. Purchasing online is probably going to be the cheapest way to buy your Nintendo DS, this is because it’s a bigger market place with more businesses competing against each other, which means better deals. The online store owner also doesn’t have upfront costs like rent and taxes.
A very common place to buy them is eBay. Second hand and brand new examples will be available and this gives you a good price range. Also if you look after Christmas, some people sell them brand new as unwanted Christmas presents. eBay is a very good place for comparing prices because there are so many being sold by different people in a small place.
One thing to keep in mind about eBay is the rate of people getting ripped off is slightly higher than if you bought from an independent online shop. This shouldn’t put you off because o the very good bargains that can be had for legitimate Nintendo consoles. Doing some simple checks will give you the edge. Make sure the seller has good feedback. Browse through the comments left by other people who have purchased from them. If they have an eBay store and not just listing individual items, this is a good sign, although if they haven’t it doesn’t mean they are not the real deal. Paying via Paypal will give you an extra bit of security because you can reclaim you money from the seller after the transaction has been made, if the item arrives and it isn’t what was stated on the listing.
By landing on this website you have even more of an advantage over your follow bidders. This blog is linked to my website which is a Nintendo store. However let me let you into a little secret. Many of the listings in store are actually pulled from the eBay auctions. So by clicking on them you will be taken to the bidding page. The advantage comes from using our site. We can list all the items on eBay that perhaps the general user may over look. For example we are set up to list items that include a wide range of criteria, from misspelt listing titles, to them being listed in the wrong category. As a general user of eBay you may only search for the exact title in the correct category and potentially miss out on these other gems, and as others miss out to the bidding and final price is lower.

NSider forum as been shut down indefinitely and in return Nintendo have announced the opening of their technical support forum. They have said that they are not sure if the NSider forum will reopen at a future date but I suspect they will only do that if the new support forum doesn’t take off. This gives them something to fall back on.
So…. you can find the new forum here
This will surley become a great resource for Wii and DS console specifically. They alrady have alot of posts. Check it out. I have just seen a 2 page long debate between two gamers, about Windex and Lens Cleaner. Which is best to clean a matte finish DSi. Some people have to much time on their hands

In the UK alone, the Nintendo DSi managed to sell 92,000. This was mainly from pre-order sales and it has been said that they out sold all other hardware in the region combined. That’s pretty impressive. The question is will the sales keep coming.
The Nintendo DSi is an upgrade from the DS Lite and there is some speculation as to what it exactly has to offer for the money and if it is worth it. The sales figures have proven other wise though and it has become the most popular handheld console on the market.

With the new Nintendo DSi about to hit the Europe market on April 3rd it is more than likely that the Nintendo DSi will become the most popular handheld console on the market to date.
The Nintendo DSi has already been released in Japan where sales have topped over 2 million in only five months and sales are still going strong. Game Stop’s CEO Bob McKenzie has confirmed that the pre-order sales figure has already doubled that of the original Nintendo DS. All this adds up to a hit console for Nintendo.
The DSi is an interactive device for the whole family and means it appeals to a wide audience which is only going to help with sales. Equipped with over 1000 games available for download directly to your handheld you are not short of choice. The main competitor to the Nintendo DSi is Sony’s new PSP. The PSP has similar features to the new DSi.
To compare the DSi has 2 built in cameras, the PSP has 1 camera which adds on to the console to give a real camera look and feel. The DS and DSi both have touch screen which are lacking in the PSP although there are home brew options which allow the owner to install their own touch screen setup. Both handhelds can play and store music. Both consoles have capabilities to go online and both can play video. Overall they are very similar but it’s the technical specs which separate these 2 portable consoles as well as their individual game titles.
With the release of the DSi, naturally the DS and DS Lite figures are expected to slow down and maybe even decrease in price which is great for people who perhaps cannot afford the DSi price tag which is set at £150 in the UK. However because of this it may mean DS sales figures continue at a steady level which is currently relatively strong. (Over 100 million units sold.)
Nintendo have a huge sales strategy planned which will be implemented throughout 2009 to ensure the public have the DSi in the front of there minds which will help maintain and grow sales. This includes software and game releases which will bring out the full potential of the Nintendo DSi and the use of it’s functions like the in-built cameras and 2 touch screens. Combined, these features will give the user new and advanced gaming experiences.
With Nintendo DSi sales expecting to sore and possibly break records you can keep up to date with all Nintendo Handheld news and information by visiting our Nintendo blog at Nintendo Handhelds and if you are thinking of buying a Nintendo DSi then make sure you check out this website.

Nintendo DS range takes first place.
The press release confrenece held on the 25th March 2009 told the public that Nintendo have exceeded 50 Million sales worldwide of their Nintendo Wii console since its release.
That is an impressive figure although to this is dwarfed by the fact that the NIntendo DS range has sold over 100 Million units worldwide. Remember to take into account that the Nintendo DSi is still yet to be released to Europe which happens on the 3rd of April 2009.
